The Hero Indian Women's League (Hero IWL) will be televised live on Eurosport India for the fifth season, with a total of 12 teams battling for top honors over three grounds in Odisha's Kalinga, Capital, and Battalion stadiums.
The tournament will be held from April 15 to May 26 after a two-year hiatus. In India's top women's professional football club league, there will be a total of 66 matches played over the course of the season, with each team facing each other once.
Eurosport will broadcast 30 games. At the end of the season, the team with the most points in the league standings will be named champions.
“It’s great to have Eurosport on board to telecast the Hero IWL 2022 and help us move forward together. Since the format of the games this season has changed and more games are added, I am sure, the fans will also be able to enjoy the matches from their drawing room,” Sunando Dhar, CEO, Leagues and Development, AIFF said.
