Indian Women's Hockey Team enters Semifinals defeating Chinese Taipei by 11-0

The Indian Women's Hockey Team gave a smashing performance by entering the semi-finals. The team thrashed Chinese Taipei 11-0 to clinch a place in the semis against either Kazakhstan or Japan in Kakamigahara, Japan.
Securing 10 points from four games, India is now the table toppers in Pool A with this victory. India went undefeated in the pool stage, winning three games and one tie.
Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke (1'), Deepika (2'), Annu (9',51'), Rutuja Dadaso Pisal (11'), Neelam (18'), Manju Chorsiya (32'), Sunelita Toppo (42',56'), Deepika Soreng (45') and Mumtaz Khan (54') all made goals for India.
From the beginning of the match, India was in the lead. With a field goal, Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke handed over the lead to India, which Deepika later doubled with a penalty corner. Before the first quarter was over, Annu and Rutuja Dadaso Pisal also added goals to give India a 4-0 advantage.
The Indian women's team however maintained their lead into the second quarter also by dominating ball possession. India was able to go into halftime with a commanding 5-0 lead by Neelam's goal.
At the end of the third quarter, the score was 7-0 as Manju Chorsiya and Sunelita Toppo achieved two goals respectively.
India's dominance continued in the last quarter with goals from Deepika Soreng, Annu, Mumtaz Khan, and Sunelita Toppo, the team finished the game 11-0. The semi-finals of the Women's Junior Asia Cup 2023 will be held on Saturday 10 June 2023 where the Indian Junior Women's Hockey Team will play either Kazakhstan or Japan.
