Indian women's hockey team draws at 2-2 with hosts South Africa

The Indian women's hockey team ended the fourth match in a 2-2 draw against the host team, South Africa. Team India has remained undefeated in the tournament so far and will face off against World No.1 Netherlands on January 23.
Vaishnavi Vithal Palkhe played her debut tour for the senior side and was the star of the match as she scored two goals, leading the team to a draw.
The match began with South Africa registering a strong start after three consecutive losses against team India. Team South Africa made the first breakthrough by capitalizing on an Indian infringement.
Quanita Bobbs utilized the penalty stroke awarded to them in the eighth minute.
Team India equalized the score in the 29th minute when a good PC variation helped them score a goal. Vaishnavi remained calm and put the ball into the post.
South Africa managed to register another lead with Tarryn Lombard striking a field goal in the 35th minute. The next few minutes saw intense gameplay from both sides. In the 51ST minute, Vaishnavi converted a PC into a goal and brought India to draw the score. Team India did not let their guard down and defended well till the match ended with the final score being 2-2.
