Indian Women's Cricket Team secures 78-run Win against UAE at Women's Asia Cup 2024

India secured a comfortable 78-run victory over UAE in their second 2024 Women's Asia Cup match, due to captain Harmanpreet Kaur's crucial innings smashing 66 off 47 balls, and wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh's unbeaten 64 off 29 balls. India posted a total of 201/5, their first above 200 in women's T20Is. The defending champions are now on their way to the tournament's semifinals.
UAE managed to put a score of just 123/7 losing the game at the 2024 Women's Asia Cup match at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium. India's Richa Ghosh scored an unbeaten 64 with a strike rate of 220.68. Her score became the highest score by an Indian wicketkeeper in the Women's T20s and Women's T20 Asia Cup. India's batters, including Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma, contributed to their victory. However, Smriti mistimed her shot and was caught by mid-off in the third over.
Shafali scored six boundaries after UAE's bowling but was caught by the keeper. Dayalan Hemalatha lost in the last over of power-play, while Harmanpreet scored three leg-side boundaries and one through the off-side along with Jemimah Rodrigues' rotating strike that continued for a half-century.
Captain Esha held UAE in the match, showcasing her boundaries. However, her knock ended when debutant Tanuja Kanwer bowled her on the outside edge and was stumped by Richa, giving her first international wicket. India secured a significant win, with Radha and Deepti taking wickets each.
