Indian Women's Cricket Team Excited for 2028 LA Olympics

Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian women's captain expressed her joy at cricket's inclusion in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, stating that the team is looking forward to it.
Cricket will be included in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, marking its return to the multi-sport extravaganza after 128 years, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced on Monday.
The Indian women's captain said that the team is excited to find that they are going to be competing in the next Olympics and every team member is looking forward to it.
Flag Football, Baseball/Softball, Squash, and Lacrosse will be included in the 2028 event. The proposal from the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 Organising Committee is to include these games in the event. It was approved at the 141st IOC session in Mumbai.
Cricket made its debut at the 1900 Paris Olympics, where the United Kingdom defeated France in the finals. However, this sport is included in the Commonwealth and Asian Games as well.
Nita Ambani, Chairperson of the Reliance Foundation and an IOC board member praised and welcomed the inclusion of cricket in the Olympics. She further thanked and congratulated the International Olympic Committee and the Los Angeles Organising Committee for their support of this historic decision.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the IOC session in Mumbai on Saturday. The session gathered members from the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The IOC sessions are where important decisions about the future of the Olympic Games are made.
