Indian Red Cross Society's Annual General Meeting supervised by President Draupadi Murmu

The ceremonial event of the Annual General Meeting of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) took place at the Rashtrapati Bhawan Cultural Centre, under the direction of President Draupadi Murmu and the President of the Indian Red Cross Society. The AGM was attended by governors and lieutenant governors from nine States and the Union Territories, some of them also participated virtually. In addition to this, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Chairperson of IRCS also marked his presence during the meeting. The meeting was attended by 300 delegates from across the nation.
Dr. Mansukh addressed the crowd and stated that the Red Cross was founded to help the poor and needy and it must advance by taking part in relief initiatives outside the nation as well.
The Union Health Minister announced that state IRCS branches will have to submit a monthly report in the form of a PPT to their governors to have transparency. This will provide awareness about their work and motivate more people to get involved with the organization. He added that the Red Cross needs to work transparently to create trust while seeking CSR funding.
Red Cross Gold Medals were awarded by President Draupadi to Dr. Goparaju Samaram from Andhra Pradesh and Dr. LN Ambati Natraj from Telangana. Among the UT Branches, IRCS, Odisha State Branch received an award for raising the most fund, and IRCS, Jammu & Kashmir received an award for raising the highest fund for the population of 2021-2022. Gujarat State branch, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, and Daman & Diu received awards for donated blood collection Gujarat received a gold medal for collecting more than 2 lakh 77 thousand units of blood in a year.
