Indian Hockey Player Salina Tete appointed as AHF Athletes Ambassador

Salima Tete, the midfielder of the National Women's Hockey Team is positioned on Thursday as the AHF Athletes Ambassador for a two-year term beginning from March 25. Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Congress in Mungyeong, Korea, a meet was organized where Salima accepted her position and the certificate.
The Indian women's junior hockey team was led by Salima to a fourth-place finish at the 2021 FIH Women's Junior World Cup held at Potchefstroom, South Africa. Salima will play her leadership role in the international representation, advocacy, and development of athletes and look after their rights and welfare in the region along with other athletes chosen from Asia.
After taking the position, Salima expressed her gratitude and mentioned about the challenges athletes face in their careers. After becoming the AHF Ambassador, she will have the power to overcome those challenges and put forward the voices of athletes. She further thanked the Asian Hockey Federation for its support and faith in her.
Dilip Tirkey, president of HI congratulated Salima for being selected for the prestigious position. He said that Salima Tete has been one of the brightest players on the Indian team for the past couple of years. He is confident enough that Salima will meet the exact needs and work for the upliftment of the players and sports to a global stage.
