India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has risen to third in the ICC Women's ODI Batting Rankings, holding 738 rating points. With impressive performances, particularly in the recent ODI series against South Africa, Smriti is now the top-ranked Indian batter in the 50-over format. Sri Lanka's star batter Chamari Athapaththu has slipped behind Smriti to fourth place.
Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur remained in ninth position, while Nilakshika de Silva, Harshitha Samarawickrama, and Kavisha Dilhari rose in the ODI batting rankings. Samarawickrama's 65-run knock in the second T20I match between Sri Lanka and Ireland lifted her up three places to 13th position. Gaby Lewis, a Sri Lankan cricketer, has reached a career-high position after a match-winning 119 off 75 balls against Ireland in a T20I match.
Smriti Mandhana, a prominent figure in Indian women's cricket, made her debut in 2013 at the age of 16. She has been a consistent performer in both ODIs and T20Is, scoring multiple centuries and half-centuries across all formats. Smriti has received several accolades, including the ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year award in 2018 and 2022. She recently scored two consecutive centuries against South Africa and climbed the 3rd position in the ODI batting rankings.
