Indian-American Women honoured at US Capitol for their Remarkable work

At the US Capitol, over a half-dozen prominent Indian-American women from throughout the country were honoured for their outstanding achievements.

At the 10th Annual Congressional International Women's Day Gala, hosted by the American Multiethnic Coalition and the Multiethnic Advisory Task Force at the US Capitol, Congressman Danny K Davis presented the honours to these distinguished women.

Producer artist Rashaana Shah, physician Dr Kalai C Parthiban, Indica News founder and journalist Ritu Jha, artist Indrani Davaluri, social activists Madhu Rohatgi and Chandani Duvvuri, popular anchor and host Nilima Mehra, and community activist Suhag Mehta were among the Indian-American women honoured.

When a woman is recognised for her efforts, it matters a lot. Ritu Jha remarked in her award speech that such recognition gives her confidence, motivates her to perform better, and gives her the guts to take on new tasks.

Congressman Davis praised the honourees for their achievements.
