India Women clinch a 60-run Victory against West Indies in 3rd T20I

India Women secured a 60-run victory in the 3rd T20I against West Indies Women, marking their first home series victory in five years. The win broke a five-year jinx and was India's first bilateral T20I series at home since 2019. Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh scored 77 off 47 balls and 54 off 21 balls respectively, securing the series 2-1. Despite heavy dew, the Windies were unable to reach their target of 218 runs at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.
WI skipper Hayley Matthews won the toss and bowled first against India. India captain Harmanpreet Kaur opted out due to a niggle where Smriti Mandhana leading the side in her absence. India had a poor start, with Uma Chetry falling in the first over, however, Smriti counterpunched aggressively, allowing India a powerful powerplay that yielded 61 runs. Jemimah also showed a strong performance smashing 39 off 28.
Jemimah got dismissed after the drinks break, but India's progress continued with the partnership of Raghvi Bist (31* off 22) and Smriti scoring 44 runs. Deandra's slow ball caught off Smriti, but the score didn't stop. Richa Ghosh's five sixes and three fours led a half-century in just 18 balls. Raghvi managed to stay until the end, feeding Richa the strike, and India soared past the 200-run mark.
During the second innings, Radha Yadav became the most successful bowler for India taking 4 wickets off 29 runs. India women smashed 217/4 in 20 overs whereas West Indies scored 157/9 in 20 overs.
