India Wins U19 Women's T20 World Cup Second Year in a Row

Team India have created history by winning the ICC Women's U19 T20 World Cup title two years in a row. Playing the final against South Africa, India showcased skill and clinched the trophy after a one-sided match.
South Africa won the toss and opted to bat first. Indian bowling attack had SA struggling from the very beginning of the match. The first wicket as taken by Parunika Sisodia who dismissed opener Simone Lourens for a duck. Jemma Botha lost her wicket next to Shabnam with score being 20/2 in the first four overs. Aayushi Sharma took Diara Ramlakan’s wicket, reducing South Africa to 29/3 by the end of the powerplay.
SA skipper Kayla Reyneke and Karabo Meso put up a brave front however, their efforts were too little, too late. The longest partnership for SA’s batting side was the 30- run partnership between Mieke van Voorst and Fay Cowling. SA team was bowled out for merely 82 runs.
From the Indian batting side Kamalini G and Trisha Gongadi opened and put 18 runs on the board within the first two overs. Kamalini lost her wicket at 13 runs in a brilliant catch taken by Simone Lourens off Reyneke's bowling.
Trisha remaining unbeaten on 44 off 33 balls and hit a total of eight boundaries. Sanika Chalke scored 26 off 22 deliveries. The duo were architects of India’s comfortable win which was achieved in just 13.3 overs, with nine wickets to spare.
This is India's second consecutive win at the ICC Women's U19 T20 World Cup.
