India U-17 women's football team loses 1-3 to Sweden in first practice Match in Spain

The Indian U-17 Women’s team were handed a 1-3 defeat by Sweden at TorremironaRelais in Spain. This was the first match played in the exposure tour ahead of FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup which will begin on 11 October in India.
SudhaTirkey (62′) scored the solo goal for the Indiaside. Team Sweden gained a 3-0 lead; Ida Gramfors (44′) Sara Frigren (52′) and Selma Astrom (54′) were the scorers from Sweden.
India began on a strong note as winger Anita Kumariwent in for the kill, but her attempt to get a goal were foiled.
In the 19th minute India earned a free kick and Anita once made an attempt at scoring. But the header was saved by Swedish custodian Elin Ekmark.
Along with Anita, India goalkeeper Anjali also played well in the first half by making a few spectacular saves to keep India in the game.
Just before the end of first half, Sweden got the breakthrough and Sara Frigren’s pass from the corner kick was met by Ida Gram fors who scored the game’s first goal.
Sweden dominated ball possession in the second half. In the 47th minute, Sweden scored its second goalon a rebound shot by Frigren. A few minutes ahead Selma Astrom scored the third and last goal of the game.
Dennerby, head Indian coach brought inSudha, Shubhangi and Shilkywho replaced Lynda Kom, Babina Devi and Varshika.Sudha soon went on to score India’s first goal of the match in the 62nd minute.
With less than 20 minutes of left on the clock, Denner by brought in Naketa, Lavanya and Shailja in place of Kajal, Neha and Kajol Dsouza. India continued its attempt to score but had to make do with the game ending at 3-1, in Sweden’s favor.
