India will host the first-ever Women's T20 World Cup for the Blind in 2025, promoting inclusivity and opportunities for visually impaired women in cricket. The decision was made at the World Blind Cricket Council's (WBCC) Annual General Meeting in Multan. Pakistan's visually impaired women's team will play matches in Nepal or Sri Lanka, with Indian players traveling to compete against them. The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) will bear the event's costs.
The president of the Cricket Association Blind in India (CABI), GK Mahantesh, mentioned, "The hosting rights of the tournament were awarded to India last year (2023) only. It was decided back then that in case there is a visa issue with the Pakistan team's coming to India, the tournament will be held in a Hybrid model. Pakistan will play all its matches at a neutral venue." He added "Pakistan's visually challenged women's team will be based either in Nepal or Sri Lanka for the entire duration of the tournament. The Indian team will travel to Nepal or Sri Lanka to play against them. Our cricket board will bear the cost of the entire event. We will play for the Pakistan team's entire stay in either of these two countries."
The CABI appointed Rajanish Henry and Chandrasekhar KN as its Secretary General and Director of Finance, respectively during the AGM. The association also decided to adhere to the International Blind Sports Federation's Sight Classification rules for international tournaments.
