India thrashes Hong Kong by 9 wickets at Women's Emerging Asia Cup 2023

On Tuesday, the Indian U-23 women's team grabbed a comfortable nine-wicket victory at the Women's Emerging Asia Cup defeating Hong Kong. Indian female player Shreyanka Patil who is an all-rounder gave a tough competition to Hong Kong by securing impressive figures of 5/2.

Winning the toss, Indian Captain Shweta Sehrawat was selected to bowl first. Team Hong Kong was bowled out for a mere 34 in 14 overs in which opener Mariko Hill made a score of 14 runs off 19 balls.

Indian players took early wickets including Titas Sandhu and left-arm spinner Mannat Kashyap. Other wicket-takers included Prashavi Chopra and young player Shreyanka Patil took a five-wicket haul (5/2).

The Indian team achieved the goal in 5.2 overs only. A large part of the chase was handled by Gongadi Trisha securing an unbeaten 19 and Uma Chetry. India secured 38/1 and won by 9 wickets against Hong Kong.
