India's Largest Integrated Power Company NTPC Announces Recruitment Drive for Women

State-run power company NTPC announced that it will embark on a special recruitment drive to onboard more women executives.
A company statement said, “On Women's Day, NTPC Ltd, India's largest integrated power company announces plans for recruiting only women executives as a special recruitment drive across its areas of operations.”
The statement also added that this step will further strengthen women power in India's largest power generation company. “Such recruitment drive will further enhance gender diversity as parameter for NTPC,” the NTPC statement added.
NTPC is an Indian Public Sector Undertaking, engaged in the business of generation of electricity and allied activities. It was incorporated under the Companies Act 1956 and is promoted by the Government of India.
The government run company has been on a mission to better gender ratio in its workforce. A prominent number of pioneering initiatives have been taken to attract more women applicants. The application fee at the time of recruitment is completely renounced for women employees.
To support women workforce, NTPC follows to policies like Child Care Leave with Pay, Maternity Leave, Sabbatical leave and NTPC Special Child Care Leave on Adoption of a Child/Delivering Child through Surrogacy.
