Union ministers Smriti Irani and Hardeep Singh Puri stated that India has moved from women-centric development to women-led development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Indian government has implemented a number of initiatives, such as those for housing and cooking fuel, to guarantee women-led development in the nation.

After addressing the Women Leadership or WeLead Lounge during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, Minister Smriti expressed her immense satisfaction at the presence of Indians on Davos' main Promenade Street, including this lounge. The Women and Child Development Ministry, in collaboration with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Industry Chamber CII, has established the lounge. She claimed that through its numerous initiatives, the government of Prime Minister Modi has secured women-led development in India.

Minister Hardeep Singh Puri of Housing and Petroleum expressed his agreement with his Cabinet colleague that India has shifted to a development model that prioritizes women. "We started with women-centric development, but now we have moved to women-led development," he stated.
