ICC Women's ODI Rankings 2025 see Indian Women Cricketers Make Striking Progress

The International Cricket Council has released a new ranking, quite unlike the others for Indian cricketers. Deepti Sharma has reached the top career-best of being fifth in the all-rounders' rankings this time by becoming the 27-year-old all-rounder cricketer from India. Other than that, Smriti Mandhana is the only one from the Indian list to make it to the top 10 of the rankings. Such new entries bring about massive changes and new trends for international women's cricket in every category of the sport.

Deepti's consistent performances have brought her to ODI all-rounders' ranks at 344 points, which puts her at No. five and above New Zealand's Amelia Kerr. It reflects her performance in both bat and ball. Meanwhile, Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner, continues to reign at the top in the all-rounder’s rankings.

Rankings across formats for Deepti are fifth spot in ODI All-rounders Ranking, third spot in T20 All-rounders Ranking and fourth spot at ODI Bowlers Ranking.

The enhancement in ranks is evidently attributed to her multi-faceted contributions in every sphere of the game. Deepti's exceptional bowling performances have since established her as one of today's very few top players in world cricket.

Smriti Mandhana is the only Indian batter to be in the top 10 of the ODI batting list. Known for her elegant stroke play and consistency, Smriti has been a centralcomponentof India's batting lineup ever since. Though other Indian batters dreamofbeing among the best, the fact that Smriti findsherself in the top 10 speaksvolumes about her importance in the national squad.

Sri Lanka's Chamari Atapattu has moved two places to occupy the seventh rank, tied with Australia's Annabel Sutherland. Chamari displayed her multi-talentednaturein Sri Lanka's 2-0 recent series loss against New Zealand, where she scored 25 runs and grabbed three wickets. Her moveisan indication of the increased competition in the rankings, as players from other teams havebeenimproving significantly.

Australia's Ashleigh Gardner are headedthe highest10 ODI all-rounderson 421 points, then England's Nat Sciver-Brunt (396) and West Indies' Hayley Matthews (378). New Zealand's Amelia Kerr is on the fourth spot with 356, and India's Deepti Sharma is fifth with 344 points. Ellyse Perry (330) is at sixth place, and Sri Lanka's Chamari Atapattu isin seventh place along with Australia's Annabel Sutherland (318 and 310 points, respectively). South Africa's Marizanne Kapp ranks ninth (302), and West Indies' Stafanie Taylor completes the top 10 at 290 points.

Australia's Beth Mooney leadsthe ODI batter rankings with 765 points, followed by England's Nat Sciver-Brunt with 750 points. Third is South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt with 738 points, then four this Australia's Alyssa Healy with 715 points. India's Smriti Mandhana got fifth with 698 points. Other leading players include Meg Lanning (Australia, 685), Harmanpreet Kaur (India, 672), Chamari Atapattu (Sri Lanka, 660), Sophie Devine (New Zealand, 645), and Amelia Kerr (New Zealand, 630).

India's women's cricket team has delivered consistent performances in all formats, but scope for improvement is still present in individual scores. As long as Deepti and Smriti keepgoingwell, others like Harmanpreet Kaur, Shafali Verma, and Jemimah Rodrigues will havetodosomething special to enter the top 10.
