ICAR-ATARI & AMTPL Sign MoU to Promote Women Agri-Entrepreneurs

ICAR Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ICAR-ATARI), Kolkata, and AgroPreneurs Market Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (AMTPL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support direct farm produce procurement from growers and to encourage the development of female entrepreneurs in the agribusiness sector. The distinguished Dr. P. Bandopadhyay, Director of Extension Education at the Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Nadia, attended the signing of the MoU.

This partnership, which functions under the Grains Global brand, seeks to empower and develop the agri-entrepreneurial environment by giving women the resources and tools they need to succeed in the industry. AMTPL will be essential to ensuring that Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) make the most of AMTPL's technological platform by assisting with arranging buyers, working capital for youngsters through bank loans, providing free training on processes, products, technology, and pricing. The purpose of this partnership is to improve farm product management efficiency and optimize the agri-value chain.

On January 23, 2024, the event was organized in Hyderabad that included 25 researchers and scholars from different fields. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research and CRIDA launched a 21-day Winter School on "Application of Weather Information for Climate Resilient Farming," involving 25 scientists and faculty members from 11 Indian states that aimed to include modern climate-resilient farming practices.
