HSBC Holdings Appoints Pam Kaur as First Female Finance Chief

Opening a new tab, HSBC Holdings (HSBA.L) has appointed insider Pam Kaur as the first female finance chief, replacing Georges Elhedery. Georges took the CEO position in the company earlier in 2024. In a statement, the firm stated that this significant step shall streamline the bank into four business units.
Additionally, HSBC is a firm that serves in the Financial Services industry, specializing in Banking, Financial Services, International Finance and Banking, Wealth Management, Corporate, and Business Banking, and retail banking. The company has been listed in London, Hong Kong, New York, and Bermuda stock exchanges.
Pam’s new position will be effective from January 1, 2025, since the firm will restructure all its operations by that time, into four distinct business lines that include Hong Kong; UK; corporate and institutional banking; and international wealth and premier banking.
Furthermore, for the last 11 years, Pam has been working with HSBC, holding different positions over the years. Prior to joining here, she was the Global Head of Group Audit at Deutsche Bank for 2 years and Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer - Restructuring and Risk Division at RBS for 4 years.
“The new structure will result in a simpler, more dynamic, and agile organization as we focus on executing against our strategic priorities, which remain unchanged,” Georges stated.
