How YSR Cheyutha is Set to Uphold Women Entrepreneurship?

Yet another step towards women empowerment, Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is launching a new scheme “YSR Cheyutha” to promote entrepreneurship among women and to make them financially independent.

This scheme would benefit close to 23 lakh women between the age group of 45 to 60 years, and belonging to SC, ST, BC, and other minority communities. As these women would get an incentive of Rs.18,750 per annum. Hence, every eligible woman would get about Rs.75,000 in four years and this scheme would cost the government about Rs.17,000 crore.

Around eight lakh widows and single women in this age group are already receiving monthly social pensions; they would also get the benefit of YSR Cheyutha. Presently, the annual amount received by women eligible for pension is Rs.27,000 at the rate of Rs.2,250 per month. Besides, they would also obtain Rs.18,750 per annum under the new scheme YSR Cheyutha, making the total amount to Rs. 45,750 per annum.

Understanding the vital strengthen of women's contribution to boost the country’s economic growth, YSR Cheyutha comes with the prime goal to make women self-reliant.

The government has also signed MoUs with various multinational companies namely ITC, Amul, HUL, Reliance, P&G, and banks to assist the goal of women empowerment. With these initiatives, the government ensures the scope for the increase in entrepreneurial opportunities for women. Also, the government with the companies assistance would provide technical and marketing assistance to those who show interest in investing the loan amount in business.
