Hockey India appoints Tushar Khandker as New Head Coach of Junior Women's Hockey Team

Tushar Khandker, a former captain was named as the head coach of the Junior Women's National Team by Hockey India on Tuesday. The team is currently preparing for the World Cup, which will take place in Santiago from November 29 to December 10.
Harvinder Singh, the interim coach appointed after Eric Wonink resigned in January has been replaced now by Tushar.
Janneke Schopman, the women's chief coach who oversees both the senior and junior sides is preoccupied with the upcoming Asian Games preparation, and now Tushar has been named as the head coach of the Junior team.
Tushar's credentials are supported by a successful international hockey career but in the past ten years, he has built a strong coaching career as well.
Tushar was the coach of the Indian Men's Team in the years 2014 to 2016 where under his coaching the team won major trophies like a gold in Asian Champions Trophy, silver in the Champions Trophy 2016, and a bronze in World Hockey League 2015. He also served as a coach at the Rio Olympic Games 2016.
