According to HerKey, the top professional engagement platform for women in India, an investment round headed by ‘Kalaari’ and 360 ONE Asset (formerly known as IIFL Asset Management, ‘IIFL AMC’) brought in $4 million. Zia Mody, Puneet Dalmia, Pramit Jhaveri, Aditi & Shuchi Kothari, KP Balaraj, Ranjan Pai, Neeraj Bajaj, and Akash Bhansali were among the angel investors that took part in the round.
HerKey has evolved into a professional engagement platform that, by putting women in India in touch with career role models, opens possibilities, learning, and communities. The platform aims to narrow the gender pay gap in the workforce of India, where just 20% of women are employed, compared to 60% in China and 55% in the US. The business began by helping women resume their jobs after taking a hiatus, and it has developed to help women launch, resume, and advance in their professions, per a statement.
The CEO and creator of HerKey, Neha Bagaria, said: "We are grateful to our esteemed investors for their support in helping us create a more inclusive workforce for women in India."
HerKey has expanded to serve more than 3.5 million women across India under Neha's leadership, and the company has ambitious growth goals to support 30 million women's careers there. Employers interact with female applicants across their entire professional lifecycle, from recruiting to retention to advancement, using the HerKey platform.
The services offered by HerKey are intended to assist businesses in fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, luring and keeping top talent, and having a beneficial effect on their bottom line. There are already over 10,000 organizations on the platform, and HerKey is inviting additional businesses to do so to open up chances, learning opportunities, and networks for female applicants.
According to Vani Kola, the founder and managing director of Kalaari Capital, "Raising the involvement of women in the workforce would be a critical feature of India's economic rise in the future decade. A digital platform like Herkey is what's required right now to move in the right direction. HerKey enables women to connect without being limited by space or time by facilitating the exchange of various information and opinions.
Vani continued by saying “Neha, as the company's founder and CEO, has done a fantastic job of paving the road for several women to resume their careers after a hiatus. We are excited to work with HerKey as they reshape the landscape of women's careers in India because of their impressive development trajectory.”
The funding came from Kalaari Capital's CXXO initiative, which aims to create a dynamic network of female leaders to support the next generation of female founder-CEOs for inclusive development and career prospects.
"We are thrilled to collaborate with Neha and her team in their efforts to establish a platform that enables women to excel and realize their full potential," said Nidhi Ghuman, senior EVP of 360 ONE Asset (formerly known as IIFL Asset Management). Herkey, formerly known as JobsforHer, has made incredible strides over the years, and the introduction of this new platform is proof of its dedication and successes recently.
