Haryana CM Saini Announces 36,000 Jobs, Emphasizes Women's Empowerment

On the occasion of the Independence Day celebration Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that to provide more employment opportunities in the state the government has targeted to recruit 36000 employees in addition to one lakh employees already recruited. 44 lakh employment opportunities are already offered to the youths by the incumbent government on a merit basis only. During the 78th Independence Day speech at Kurukshetra, Saini echoed the government’s stand on the progress of women in the economic and educational fields and their security.
At the event, Saini unfurled the Indian tri-color flag, greeted the public, and saluted the martyrs who fought for the independence of India. He also chucked a wreath on the war memorial to signify the state’s stand on honoring those who sacrificed lives to defend freedom.
Saini emphasized that the government has employed over 2 lakh individuals who are either employed under outsourcing services or are part of Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam. Regarding the question of education, he said new colleges have been opened in the state, 32 out of them have been for women. Moreover, the state also provides Free Education for Girl Children up to the graduate level. To support higher education, 5,105 daughters intending to study in foreign countries have taken loans amounting to Rs 20. 28 crores, and the Haryana government has agreed to give a five percent interest subsidy on the loan.
While addressing measures aimed at improving women's control over household resources to support higher earnings, Saini stated that a third of these ration depots have been given to women. He also said that the state government has the vision to make 2 lakhs ‘Lakhpati Didis’ making through different training programs and in the first phase they have targeted to make 62000 women self-reliant. Saini also appreciated the Narendra Modi government for enacting the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill and sought 33 percent reservation in the legislative houses to enhance the participation of women in democracy. Adding that this state Haryana for example has already made it constitute 50 percent women in Panchayati Raj institutions.
