Indian Grandmasters Koneru Humpy, Vaishali Rameshbabu, and Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu will compete in the 12th Norway Chess Championship, featuring world No.1 Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, Ding Liren, Ju Wenjun, and Lei Tingjie. The Norway Chess Championship, set to take place from May 27 to June 7, will feature the world's first-ever equal-female tournament, the Norway Chess Women's Tournament. The event aims to promote gender equality and provide more opportunities for female chess players. The tournament will feature the brother-sister duo Praggnanandhaa and Vaishali, who won the 2022 International Open Tournament.

Rameshbabu Vaishali, an Indian chess grandmaster, and her brother Praggnanandhaa are the first-ever brother-sister duo to earn the Grandmaster title and qualify for the Candidates Tournament. Vaishali won the Girls' World Youth Chess Championship in 2012 and 2015, and became a Woman Grandmaster in 2018. She achieved her final norm in the Riga Technical University Open chess tournament in 2018.

Vaishali won India's first-ever medal at the Online Olympiad 2020 and earned her International Master title in 2021. She won the 8th Fischer Memorial in 2022, Tata Steel Challengers 2023, Qatar Masters Open 2023, and FIDE Women's Grand Swiss 2023, qualifying for the Women's Candidates Tournament in 2024.
