GOQii's 'India Fit Report 2024' states 59% of Indian Women are Unhealthy

The GOQii's 'India Fit Report 2024' states that in 2023, 45 per cent of Indians were classified as "Borderline or Unhealthy," in comparison to 48 per cent in 2022. Significant differences are highlighted in the report, specifically concerning women in India. 40 per cent of men were reported unhealthy whereas 59 per cent of women listed up in a similar category. Among women, 16 per cent were classified as obese. These results derived from the study, titled "Thriving at Any Age: The Blueprint for Healthy Longevity," showcase a significant disparity in health and highlight the urgent need for national health measures as chronic lifestyle disorders like diabetes and high blood pressure are still common and need to be intervened.
The report further highlights the reasons behind the rising unhealthy lifestyle among Indians. The stress level has soared in a frequent manner, especially for women. out of the population, 26 per cent are affected by work-related stress whereas financial instability affects 17 per cent of people. According to the survey, high standards and better performance expectations play a major role in the increase in stress. Lifestyle-related illnesses such as high blood pressure have affected 23 per cent of people whereas ailments including diabetes, high cholesterol, and thyroid disorders are still rising to cause serious problems for public health.
Vishal Gondal, CEO of GOQii, emphasized the need for comprehensive health interventions, urging changes in India's approach to health and longevity. He called for preventive healthcare measures and lifestyle modifications to improve quality of life.
