Google honours Women Supporting Women with a Doodle on International Women's Day

In honour of International Women's Day, Google publishes a Doodle that depicts women helping one another. The Doodle showcases strong women who support progress on issues that are essential to the lives of women everywhere. It also recognises groups of women who work together to do research, spread awareness, and promote equality. Stories associated with each letter of the word "GOOGLE" depict women as the main carers for people from all walks of life and as essential support systems for one another as moms.

The Doodle was made by Doodle Artist Alyssa Winans, who was motivated by her own experiences and the notion of women helping women.

As Winans considers all the ways other women have supported her, she acknowledges the guidance and assistance she has received from her older sisters.

Winans is aware of the challenges women have in balancing work and family duties as well as the complexities of motherhood. The Doodle makes a reference to this incident by showing two women nursing their babies on one of the letters.

The Doodle serves as a starting point for a discussion of the vast, complex, profound, and potent concept of femininity. It honours the worldwide network of women who support one another in all phases of life. In honour of these ladies, Google wishes everyone a happy International Women's Day.
