  • Mild Care promotes menstrual hygiene at Maha Kumbh with educational sessions.
  • Startup benefits from GIMS guidance and engages 1,000+ people daily.
  • Aims to reduce stigma and provide products like stand-and-pee devices.

In collaboration with the Satyakam organisation Mild Care, a startup incubated at GIMS Medical Incubation Centre, has set up a stall at Maha Kumbh. The initiative focuses on menstrual hygiene awareness through educational sessions, demonstrations, discussions, and addressing taboos.

GIMS, head of incubation Dr Rahul Singh said, "Menstrual hygiene is a public health priority. GIMS is proud to support startups that are working towards change through innovative solutions,"

Sandeep Vyas and Rachna Vyas, founders of Mild Care, said they were given guidance and resources at the Medical Incubation Centre. "GIMS gets 5,000 patients every day. We speak to the patients and get their feedback on our products. The gynecologists at GIMS ensured our menstrual cups and sanitary napkins adhered to medical standards," said Sandeep.

The team engages with over 1,000 people every day at the Kumbh venue. Rachna Vyas said "Even today, menstruating women experience certain restrictions when it comes to places of worship, and this stigma is evident here as well. Despite numerous shops here, none of them offer menstrual hygiene products. We aim to change that while providing stand-and-pee devices for women struggling to find clean washrooms around,"

The Director of GIMS Brig. Dr Rakesh Gupta said the institute is committed to community welfare.
