FM Nirmala Sitharaman hands over credit schemes to women entrepreneurs

The women entrepreneurs of Kashmir were handed over sanction letters of various credit-related schemes by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and launched Externally Aided Projects during a function held at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre in Srinagar.
In her two day visit to Union Territory, the finance minister interacted with women entrepreneurs from Jammu and Kashmir who are working in a variety of sectors, including dairy, journalism, furniture manufacturing, beekeeping, handicraft and copper works.
During the function, the women entrepreneurs were handed over sanction letters of various credit-related schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, the Finance Minister said, there are number of programmes of Jammu and Kashmir administration such as “HAUSLA, SAATH” which are aimed at skill development, marketing support and mentorship to women entrepreneurs.
Sitharaman listened to inspiring stories from the women entrepreneurs in Jammu and Kashmir and how they fought with the challenges.
In Srinagar, Finance Minister Launches programmes on “Mission Youth” and Externally Aided Projects (EAP).
She also laid the foundation stone for UT level Emergency Operation Centre and SCADA control building at Budgam in central Kashmir costing ₹ 34.88 Crores and launched works pertaining to education, disaster management, health and urban infrastructure costing ₹ 130.49 crores.
She said these projects are under the Jhelum and Tawi Flood Recovery Project (JTERP), which is an EAP assisted by a credit of $ 250 mn from the World Bank. JTFRP aims at both restoring essential services disrupted by floods and improving design standards and practices to increase resilience, she added.
