FM Inaugurates 5 Nari Shakti branches of Union Bank of India

Union Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman conducted the inauguration of five Nari Shakti branches of Union Bank of India. The inauguration was conducted virtually by the Union Finance Minister from Bengaluru. The Nari Shakti branches have been opened in Bengaluru, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, and Jaipur.
Nirmala Sitharaman addressed the attendees at the inauguration and spoke about the need for banks to build customized schemes geared towards strengthening women entrepreneurs through technology-driven, cluster-based schemes. She highlighted that the purpose of these schemes must be the empowerment of Indian women entrepreneurs. Nirmala Sitharaman also urged the banks to become the catalysts for women’s financial inclusion across India.
Nirmala Sitharaman also addressed women entrepreneurs and motivated them to make pertinent use of the newly launched schemes. She also highlighted that women entrepreneurs’ ventures would contribute towards job creation as well.
The newly launched Nari Shakti branches of Union Bank of India will primarily focus on providing credit to Indian women entrepreneurs. The bank will financially aid women-led manufacturing and service units in India. The Union Bank of India with its five Nari Shakti branches will guide women entrepreneurs on skill development through mentoring, networking and collaboration. It will also provide advisory services and workshops on start-ups to the women.
