In order to empower women in poverty-driven areas, Forever Living Products (FLP) India led by Rex Maughan in collaboration with the Krushi Prasar Foundation has launched a significant Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program in Pune. Women will be provided with sewing machines as a part of this project. This initiative has been launched to address the persistent farmer suicides in Maharashtra, India. the initiative aims to address factors like debt, crop failure, limited credit access, and mental health issues, emphasizing the need for comprehensive support systems in the agricultural sector.
Support systems, particularly for women affected by crises, are crucial for resilience. Community organizations, government programs, and NGOs provide aid, counseling, and livelihood support. Empowering women through skills training and resource access is essential for societal change. This joint initiative empowers women across the country by providing them with the skills to earn a living through sewing.
The Krushi Prasar Foundation supports sustainable natural resource management, industry health and safety, adaptability to changing environments, market access, technology adoption, and business skills development for primary producers and the food industry in India, aiming for a prosperous farming community and sustainable practices. CSM FLP India, Mr. Harish Singla mentioned the importance of empowering women driving initiatives that will provide both livelihood and skill upliftment of women.
