First time in History, Women now Operating MSRTC Buses

According to a recent report, Shekhar Channe, the vice-chairman and managing director of MSRTC stated that women who already carry heavy vehicle licenses have undergone training for three months whereas women who didn't have one have gone for a training of one year.
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) which now employs female drivers. For the first time in 75 years of Indian history, this decision to provide women to operate buses has been taken, according to a PTI report.
After the state-owned public transportation agency announced the hiring of 28 female drivers, stated a spokesperson, Abhijit Bhosale. He even declared that this was just the beginning of a "new era". Today, some female drivers have started operating buses.
Madhavi Santosh Salve, who was in charge of a Sinnar-Nashik bus, was one of the company's first few female drivers.
The female drivers who have passed through the rigorous training have again gone through 80 days of training. Reports say that 28 out of the 206 female drivers who have qualified for a direct recruitment scheme in 2019 have already been hired. Due to the pandemic, the hiring process for delayed, and some of the qualified women have also withdrawn.
Over 5,500 women conductors work for the MSRTC, in around 16,000 buses. MSRTC Buses are regarded as Maharashtra's lifeline as they connect the state's towns and cities with remote villages.
