FIH Hockey Women's Junior World Cup: India Defeat Canada 12-0

The Indian women's hockey team clinched their opening game at the FIH Hockey Women's Junior World Cup in Chile 2023 with a commanding 12-0 victory over Canada.
The Indian team showcased a brilliant performance from the start scoring four goals in the first fifteen minutes of the match to put extreme pressure on the Canadian team. India's total goal was secured by Annu (4', 6', 39'), Dipi Monika Toppo (21'), Mumtaz Khan (26', 41', 54', 60'), Deepika Soreng (34', 50', 54'), and Neelam (45').
Indian team started the match with an aggressive strategy and captured the lead by receiving two penalty corners (4', 6') by Annu. India kept their offensive momentum while applying constant pressure to Canada.
India continued to dominate in the second quarter by goals from Mumtaz and Dipi whereas the Canadian team lost to convert a penalty corner. India completed the second quarter with a decisive 4-0 lead.
India scored continuous goals in their third and fourth quarters, holding onto their lead the entire time. India's lead was strengthened when Annu finished her hat-trick and Deepika converted another penalty corner. Mumtaz also captured another goal.
The Indian squad gave a tough and exemplary performance which was a treat for the audience. The focus now shifts to their Friday match against Germany.
