Female Voters Surpass Male Voters in 2024 Rajasthan LS Elections

In a number of constituencies in Rajasthan, women have outshined male voters casting the majority of votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. In Churu, women at 63.71 per cent have cast their votes, marginally higher than the percentage of men at 63.51 per cent. In Jhunjhunu, the percentage of female voters was 54.03 per cent, higher than that of male voters at 51.92 per cent. In Sikar, women voted at a rate of about 58.92 per cent, while men voted at a rate of 56.26 per cent. In Pali, the percentage of female voters was recorded at 57.25 per cent whereas the male percentage was 57.13 per cent. Jalore recorded 63.35 per cent of women cast their votes whereas 62.48 men did. Udaipur women voted with a remarkable record of 68.01 per cent, higher than the 65.36 per cent turnout of men. Banswara recorded 75.75 per cent female voters surpassing 72.05 per cent men whereas Rajsamand recorded 59.18 per cent female voters and 57.63 per cent male voters.

Pali and Rajsamand were the only two Rajasthan assembly constituencies with women candidates namely Congress candidate Sangeeta Beniwal and BJP's Mahima Vishwaraj Singh respectively. Rajasthan's 61 assembly constituencies saw a 10.74 per cent increase in female voters, with the Bhim assembly segment showing the highest difference, a historical site of the Right to Information movement began.

The Banswara Lok Sabha constituency witnessed the highest women voter turnout at 75.75 per cent, with Ghatol showing an impressive 82.68 per cent participation. In the Barmer Lok Sabha, 78.21 per cent to 82.12 per cent of women voted. Rural women voted more actively than urban women with a 64.47 per cent voting percentage, while third-gender voters participated with 56.33 per cent in urban areas and 40 per cent in rural areas.
