Match 9 of ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 witnessed revenge by England over South Africa. After the defeat in the 2023 semi-final, England bounced back with their all-rounder team winning the game with 7 wickets at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Team England chased down the target set by South Africa of 125 in just 19.2 overs with the loss of 3 wickets. The feat was clinched with top performers like Danielle Wyatt-Hodge with 43 runs and Natalie Sciver-Brunt with 48 runs, whereas Sophie Ecclestone takes the 'Player of the Match' with her splendid spell of 2/15 in just 4 overs.

Team England initially struggled when Marizanne Kapp's spell returned Maia Bouchier in the powerplay for 8(20), however, England counter-attacked with Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Alice Capsey getting the game back on track. Nat Sciver-Brunt takes charge after Nadine de Klerk caught Alice with 19(16), scoring the winning runs off the second ball of the final over, ending unbeaten 48* from 36 deliveries. The England bowlers dominated the match as none of them went empty-handed, Linsey Smith (1/32), Charlie Dean (1/25), Sophie (2/15), and Sarah Glenn (1/18).

South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first putting on a total of 124/6 in 20 overs with impressive players like skipper Laura Wolvaardt scoring 42 off 39 balls. Tazmin Brits was caught for 13 off 19 balls but South Africa's 37/1 marked a good sign in the powerplay. However, team England marked their position strong during the middle overs, and their bowling attack slowed down the innings. Sophie Ecclestone cleaned Captain Laura with 42(39) and restricted Marizanne Kapp for 26/17. With this win, England leads Group B with two wins.
