Eicher Trucks & Buses accomplished the second Women Transporters Delegation onto its Industry 4.0 Bhopal facility. Observing this initiative bears testament to Eicher's commitment to inclusion within Indian commercial vehicle (CV) industry, executed with the collaboration of industry expert Girish Mirchandani.
The event hinged on Eicher's "Nayi Soch, Naye Raaste" belief that injected a breath of air for women leaders within the transport sector, to converse, exchange, and explore possible opportunities of engagement in a highly dynamic industry. The programs were quite informative as they highlighted the emerging trends in the industry, challenges affecting it, and how the role of women in the sector is transforming, especially as the commercial vehicle (CV) sector goes for digitization, alternative fuels, and smart mobility solutions.
The delegates engaged in these activities for 2 days. The inauguration event was a grand tour of Eicher's excellent Bhopal facility showcasing the only female Eicher Pro X assembly line by Industry 4.0 manufacturing techniques. There were visits to the cab line and the newest paint shop. The delegation had an opportunity to interact in lively session discussions with the VECV Executive Management and Senior Women Leaders on major transformations and opportunities that prevail in the sector.
Another highlight of the event was the experience with the test drive, where participants drove Eicher newly created innovations, particularly the Eicher Pro X EV and Eicher Pro 2055 EV. Panel discussions on the future of mobility have also been around alternative fuels, artificial intelligence, digitization, and the importance of a driver- and mechanic-first approach.
Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO, VECV, said, "At Eicher Trucks and Buses, we are convinced that inclusivity and diversity really drive business growth. The industry is being reshaped by technology and digital solutions driving smarter, more efficient businesses. We are working on diversity and creating an inclusive environment within the organization, like our all-women assembly line in Bhopal. We thank you for partnering in this innovative development in the commercial vehicle industry."
Bhagwan K Bindiganavile, EVP Strategic Planning, Brand & Communications at VECV, pointed, "The Indian CV industry is changing quite fast with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Seven Cs for mobility solutions: Common, Connected, Convenient, Congestion-free, Charged, Clean, and Cutting-edge".
