In the third and final ODI of the India-Australia Women's series, Australia secured a 3-0 clean sweep by defeating India by 83 runs. Despite an impressive century by Smriti Mandhana, India couldn't chase down Australia's target of 299. Annabel Sutherland's century Ashleigh Gardner's and Tahlia McGrath's half-centuries contributions helped Australia post 298 for 6 in 50 overs. India was bowled out for 215 in 45.1 overs.
During the first inning, India won the toss and opted to field first against Australia. They started strong and grabbed four wickets for 78. However, Aussie star Annabel Sutherland's 110 for 95 balls, Ashleigh Gardner's half-century, and captain Tahila McGrath's 56 put up a total of 298 for six wickets in 50 overs.
Smriti Mandhana's 105 off 109 balls gave high hopes for team India to secure the target of 299 runs, but her dismissal at a crucial juncture weakened their chances. Ashleigh's five-wicket haul sealed an 83-run victory for team Australia over India as they were restricted to 215.
The Indian innings struggled due to a lack of support from senior batters. After the early dismissal of Richa Ghosh (2), Smriti led the team's recovery. However, Alana King dismissed the partnership of her and Harleen Deol. Additionally, Ashleigh took 5 consecutive wickets for 30 runs, where Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Deepti Sharma failed with the bat.
