Delhi & Bengaluru to Host Upcoming Tata WPL 2024

Delhi and Bengaluru are expected to host the upcoming Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024, according to a BCCI source. The inaugural event took place in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai in March 2023, and a BCCI source confirmed that they now intend to take it to new places. The competition is expected to take place in March of 2024.
The Women's Premier League, a women's franchise Twenty20 cricket league operated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is in its second season in 2024. The five teams competing in the tournament are the Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and UP Warriorz. Double round-robin will be the format of the respective game, with playoffs to follow. Mumbai Indians have grabbed the maiden title defeating Delhi Capitals in the inaugural season of Tata WPL 2023.
Sixty players from the previous season were retained by their respective teams. Thirty players were sold at the player auction, nine of them were foreign players. The Australian All-rounder player Annabel Sutherland received the highest bid of Rs. 2 crore and was acquired by Delhi Capitals whereas Kashvee Gautam was bought by Gujarat Giants with a whopping amount of Rs. 2 crore making her the highest bid uncapped player.
