The women's T20 World Cup match versus West Indies saw all-arounder Deepti Sharma add a new accomplishment to her resume. Three wickets were taken by the 25-year-old spinner, including those of Stafanie Taylor, Shemaine Campbelle, and Afy Fletcher.

In addition to the three-wicket haul, Deepti finished off her 100th wicket in T20I cricket, making history as the first Indian bowler to do so in the game's shortest format. Deepti has played in 89 games and earned an economy of 6.1 to accomplish this milestone.

Deepti leads the list of Indian women who have taken the most wickets in T20I matches, next by Poonam Yadav (98), Radha Yadav (67), Rajeshwari Gayakwad (58), Jhulan Goswami (56) and Ekta Bisht (53) Yuzvendra Chahal, a seasoned spinner, holds the record for India's most wickets taken in men's cricket with 91.

Milestone Alert

A special TON for Deepti Sharma as she overtakes Team Australia as the highest wicket-taker in women's T20 International cricket.

Before Richa Ghosh lead India to a six-wicket victory against West Indies in the Women's T20 World Cup Group 2 encounter in Cape Town, Deepti dazzled with the ball.

After being summoned to bowl, Deepti created a web from around West Indies hitters, limiting them to 118 for six. The seasoned off-spinner (3/15) scooped up three wickets to reach 100 wickets in women's T20Is and become the first Indian to do so.

Then, with 11 balls remaining, Ghosh (44 not out) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (33) put up a crucial 72-run partnership to lead India to their second victory in the competition.
