DBS Bank India has launched a six-month internship program to assist women transitioning back into the workforce, including new mothers. The bank has implemented the "Reimagine" program to foster a diverse workforce and offer support to employees at various life stages.
This program aims to help a selected group of returnees settle their lives back at work by offering them tasks and industry expert training. The internship will be executed for six months and will provide practical assignments for the participants. Leaders in respective fields will help returnees return to the demands of corporate life by offering advice and assistance. The program acknowledges that it is challenging for women to return to work after a career break, particularly in the rapid evolution of technology and workplace dynamics. Unconscious bias and difficulties balancing work and life may also affect women.
Prior initiatives by DBS Bank India have produced encouraging results, with women's total involvement percentage rising by 13 percent. DBS Bank has extended paternity and adoption leave for new fathers from two weeks to four weeks, promoting parity and balanced paternal responsibilities across 19 Indian states. The Managing Director and Country Head-HR, DBS Bank India, Kishore Poduri mentioned, "We have introduced this six-month internship for women returning to work in a very international way so that we can build a pipeline of skilled talent while helping employees grow their careers in long-term."
