CWG 22: Indian BeatsPakistan by 8 Wickets in Women's Cricket Group A Clash

The Indian women’s cricket team defeated rivals Pakistan by eight wickets in group A match at the Commonwealth Games being held in Birmingham. Although the match was cut short by the rain, yet team India’s all round performance helped them gain an easy victory. After losing to India (second consecutive loss in CWG 2022) team Pakistan has almost been knocked out from the multi-nation sporting event.
Team India had to bowl first after they lost the toss. But the Indian bowlers showcased a stellar performanceand the Pakistan women’s cricket team was sent packing at 99 runs in 18 overs. SnehRana and RadhaYadavshwed promise in their bowling as bothtwo wickets each.
Vice-captainSamritiMandhana (42-ball 63) and Varmaplayed a solid 61-run partnership and chased the total of 100 with much ease, thus winning the game for India.
The Indian side included SmritiMandhana, ShafaliVerma, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Jemimah Rodrigues, SabbhineniMeghana, Deepti Sharma, RadhaYadav, SnehRana, Meghna Singh andRenuka Singh.
