Business Titan Ratan Tata passes Away; Pres Murmu, CM Mamata Express Grief

One of the most revered industrialists and philanthropists, the former chairman of India's largest conglomerate, Tata Sons and Tata Group, Shri Ratan Tata passed on 9 October 2024, Wednesday at the age of 86 after he suffered from health issues. His absence made the whole country deeply saddened as he was a legend known by all. Known for his visionary leadership and ethical business practices, he uplifted many lives without hesitating in terms of gender, caste, or religion.

Shri Ratan Tata spearheaded the expansion of the Tata Group into global markets, transforming it into a multinational giant with operations in over 100 countries. His tenure was marked by landmark acquisitions such as Jaguar Land Rover and Corus Steel, reflecting his strategic ambition to elevate Indian companies onto the global stage. Beyond business, his commitment to social causes from education to healthcare made him a symbol of integrity and compassion.

Industrialists, Celebrities, Ministers, everyone expressed sadness on the legend's demise. From the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, President of India, Droupadi Murmu to notable ministers penned down on their social media platforms. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee expressed grief and mentioned on X, "The former Chairman of Tata Group had been a foremost leader of Indian industries and a public-spirited philanthropist. His demise will be an irreparable loss for the Indian business world and society." The President of India stated, "In the sad demise of Shri Ratan Tata, India has lost an icon who blended corporate growth with nation-building and excellence with ethics. A recipient of Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan, he took forward the great Tata legacy and gave it a more impressive global presence."
