BRICS CII WE highlight Women's Inclusion in Leadership Roles

The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRICS CII) Women Empowerment vertical has highlighted the urgent need for the inclusion of more women to hold leadership positions across a range of industries including education, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and leadership mentoring. The speakers during the 4th Annual Summit of the BRICS CCI WE emphasized that empowering women is not just a strategy for sustainable development but also a moral responsibility. The event was organized to commemorate International Women's Day in New Delhi.
The summit on International Women's Day featured prominent figures like Rajya Sabha MP Sonal Mansingh, veteran film actress Poonam Dhillon, and former BRICS Sherpa Sanjay Bhattacharya, emphasizing the importance of women's leadership in empowering half of the population for sustainable development.
The BRICS CCI Women Empowerment Vertical, a platform for dialogue and action, highlighted the importance of women's empowerment in sustainable development during their 4th Annual Summit.
BRICS is a group of emerging economies that was first coined by Goldman Sachs economist Jim O'Neil in 2001. This alliance includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The organization is an intergovernmental organization that onboarded new members including Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates on 1 January 2024.
