Bengal Election Manifesto Includes 33 Percent Reservation for Women in State Government Jobs

The ruling government has unveiled its manifesto for the West Bengal elections and has called it 'SankalpPatra' and promises to build a "Sonar Bangla" by providing employment, strengthening social security schemes, and vowing to clear the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act.
The manifesto also includes few provisions for women. It promised a seventh pay commission for state employees and 33 percent reservation for women in state government jobs. In addition to KG to PG free education for all women and other reservations, it also announced an increment in widow pension from Rs 3,000 to Rs 1,000 and set up 12 battalions that comprise only women.
The announcement of 33 percent reservation for women in the state government jobs and a free ride in-state public transports is aimed to support women electorates who share half the stake of the state's total electorates.
The manifesto promises to build new AIIMS in North Bengal, Jungle Mahal, and Sunderban regions, besides toilets and clean drinking water for every family.
"Bengal has turned into one of the most unsafe states for women. Inaction for years has broken the dreams of the youth and has stopped the flow of employment," says, Union Home Minister, Amit Shah.
Shah also said that when the BJP forms the government in West Bengal, people would not have to go to court for organizing Durga Puja and Saraswati Puja.
The government also said that it will ensure the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat health care scheme and PM-Kisan programme in the state of Bengal and also promised to give at least one job per family.
The manifesto also talks about border security and no infiltration at Bengal borders.
