A workshop on women empowerment and career counselling was held in Baramulla with the goal of raising awareness about job opportunities and guiding young girls through the numerous options available.

The workshop was held under the auspices of the Headquarters of the 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles.

Block Development Officer Shafia, Firdous Educational Institute Director Ishrat Tanki, and National Para Basketball Player Ishrat Akhter were among the guest speakers at the session.

The guest speakers briefed the girls about the latest government initiatives, skill development programmes, and sports opportunities, as well as encouraging the local population to take advantage of these resources to better their lives and guide them to numerous job opportunities.

"I would like to give a message to the girls of Kashmir," guest speaker Shafia Maqbool stated, "to make a career for yourself, make your own decisions, and know your self-worth."

The event drew a total of 160 young women. As part of this endeavour, an instructive lecture on various government plans and initiatives for the upliftment of families, particularly women, was also given in order to improve skill development among women, youth, and the general public.

A participant, Farhat Manzoor, remarked, "Such workshops are important for the women of Kashmir. Earlier, I too did not have the opportunity, but slowly I have created it for myself. We need to empower ourselves to speak and create opportunities for us."

According to Sumanjeet Kaur Bali, "I was called here by 52 RR to do anchoring for the workshop on women empowerment and career counseling. They also stated that women should not just stay at home but should move ahead study and work as well as a woman is not only the foundation of a family but she is the foundation of the whole society."

A local lawyer, Hamid Bhat, stated, "The Indian Constitution gives various rights to the women of our country. I would like to tell the women of Jammu and Kashmir that today's women claim the right to education, right to work, and right to decide."
