To honour Raja Ram Mohan Roy's achievements to women's rights in India, including the abolition of practises like sati, polygamy, child marriage, and the caste system, the department of art & culture organised awareness rallies on women's empowerment in many districts.

According to a DIPR report, Dr. Kuzo Duadeo announced that various programmes and schemes were coming up where women's empowerment had been stressed in observance of the 75th year of independence while flagging off the rally, ADC Chümoukedima.

He claimed that education was the "most basic thing" for empowering women because it gave one the ability to know what to do, what was right, and what course of action to take.

N. Longshio Lotha served as the program's chair. P. Kughato, the department of art and culture's registering officer, gave the opening remarks, and John Kent performed a special song.

The rally, which began at the Department of Art & Culture and ended at the 7th Mile Village Gate, drew 250 participants in total, including students from St. Joseph's Higher Secondary School and Government Middle School, Chümoukedima Block IV.

Phek: The rally began in Phek and ended there in the Government Higher Secondary School Auditorium. It was flagged off at the District Hospital junction.

Speaking at the event, EAC Phek, Tshelhi-u reportedly said that the anniversary marked the struggle against depraved customs like Sati and child marriage as well as prejudice against women and children.

She emphasised that women had rights that were equal to those of men and that those rights should not be overlooked.

Peren: The women's empowerment awareness rally was held in the Peren district's Jalukie. Around 250 students from various schools participated in the rally, which started at St. Xavier Higher Secondary School in Jalukie and was formally flagged off by EAC Peren, Ihoilung Chuilo.

In his speech as a special guest, EAC Peren Ihoilung Chuilo, according to a DIPR report, briefly discussed Raja Rammohan Roy's life, his struggle against the sati system, and the inheritance rights of women.
