Assam's Apurna Narzary to Lead Indian Women's Football team against Sweden

Assam’s Apurna Narzary is all set to lead the Indian Women's Football team as captain in their crusade against Sweden.
Pramod Boro, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Assam's Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), took to Twitter to share the news.
In a Tweet he wrote, "A day of immense pride for Assam & BTR as our very own Apurna Narzary from Kokrajhar, will lead the Indian Women's Football team as Captain for upcoming matches in Sweden. Many congratulations to Apurna and may #TeamIndia achieve glory under her leadership. Our prayers & best wishes are with her. Godspeed."
Speaking about the development, Ranoj Pegu, Assam’s education minister said, "It's great news - Apurna from Kokrajhar is the captain of Indian Women's Football team to play in Sweden.”
Apurna had earlier led the Indian Women’s Football team to defeat Singapore by 7-0 in Vietnam earlier in March.
Apurna had also led the women’s football team to the victory in the first round of the AFC Under-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers.
