Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and the son of former Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu announced the creation of a specialized cell for women entrepreneurs in the state, along with a considerable startup grant of Rs 5 crore.

CM Pema made the statement during the first session of the NITI Aayog-hosted Women Entrepreneurship Platform state workshop. NITI Aayog, which was established in 2015 to replace the Planning Commission, is India's primary public policy think tank. It promotes a bottom-up approach to economic policymaking by incorporating state governments.

This trailblazing effort intends to establish a centralized center for female entrepreneurs, providing critical resources such as mentorship, capacity-building exercises, and a variety of initiatives to promote female-led firms.

The newly formed unit will also oversee incubation and acceleration programs targeted exclusively for women, providing a climate suitable to their entrepreneurial pursuits.

Chief Minister Khandu stressed the significance of empowering women in business, demonstrating the government's commitment to promote gender equality and economic prosperity via inclusive measures.

This approach has the potential to considerably contribute to the empowerment and progress of women in Arunachal Pradesh's business ecosystem.
