AP Chambers launches Central Zone Women Entrepreneurs Wing in Guntur

The Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (A.P. Chambers) has launched its Central Zone Women Entrepreneurs Wing in Guntur to empower women and integrate them into the state's economic development on 2 June 2024. Potluri Bhaskara Rao, President of A.P. Chambers inaugurated the event on Sunday. The wing welcomes prominent delegates, businesswomen, entrepreneurs, and professionals, with Vigan University Chairman Dr. Lavu Rathaiah as the chief guest who emphasized the significance of supporting women who have the potential to excel in various fields.
The A.P. Chambers promotes women's economic participation to boost sustainable development, gender equality, and poverty alleviation. Women contribute only 17 per cent to India's GDP, underscoring the potential for GDP growth by 1.5 per cent with 50 per cent female workforce participation, suggests the World Bank. According to a study, India has 63 million MSMEs, with 20 per cent being women-owned, employing 22 to 27 million people.
Sakku Madhavi Latha has been appointed chairperson of the Central Zone Women Entrepreneurs Wing, whereas Rayapati Mamatha serves as vice-chairperson of the Wing. The event was graced by Executive Vice President L Raghu Rami Reddy, General Secretary B Raja Sekhar, Women Entrepreneurs Wing chairperson Y Geetha Srikanth, and others. The significant initiative aims to empower women entrepreneurs and promote economic growth in Andhra Pradesh, which several women entrepreneurs and business enthusiasts attended.
