In a recent session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the importance of women's empowerment, highlighting initiatives like 33 per cent reservation in education and jobs, fixed deposit schemes, and financial support through programs like Pasupu Kunkuma and Deepam-2. He also cited the Telugu Desam Party's legacy in women's rights.
CM Chandrababu stated that under the TDP founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), women's rights in the state were pioneered, and during his tenure, women's rights were promoted in significant arenas, including property rights, education, and employment promotion.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Naidu highlighted the progress made in empowering women through education, financial initiatives, and delimitation processes. He assures that implementing these initiatives could rise around 75 per cent women representation in the Assembly. The CM announced a fixed deposit scheme for every girl child, providing Rs 5,000 for women's economic security and financial support for farmers of Rs 10,000 under the Pasupu Kunkuma initiative, allocating Rs 9,689 crore.
He further announced to provide three free cooking gas cylinders to women under the Deepam-2 initiative. CM Naidu pledged to match women's savings through Dwacra scheme with equal government contribution, aiming to facilitate natural irrigation across 20 lakh acres. He emphasized Telugu Desam Party's advocacy for women's rights.
