Amway Announces Project Nari Shakti to Foster the Spirit of Women Entrepreneurship

Amway, the direct selling company has announced the launch of a programme called ‘Nari Shakti’, which is aimed towards reinforcement of women entrepreneurship and facilitating ownership and operation of their own businesses. The company is committed towards women empowerment and endeavors to bring them to the forefront as part of making major strides towards strengthening the gig economy ecosystem in the country.
As part of its 10-year growth vision, Amway aims to continue to empower women and offer them the opportunity to own and operate their own business while living their passions for fitness, healthy living, cooking, or beauty. Beginning with the Eastern region, the Nari Shakti project is aimed at bringing Amway’s existing group of women direct sellers to the forefront by enhancing their existing skills to run their independent Amway businesses successfully.
Amway has planned various sessions with these select set of women entrepreneurs aimed at enhancing their skill sets, knowledge about best business practices, product trainings and usage of the various business tools and social commerce. These women will be mentored by key senior women entrepreneurs and who will guide them throughout their journey with Amway India. The project also lays emphasis on the importance of social selling in the current environment and highlights the accelerated adoption of digital medium to sustain businesses and moving beyond the traditional ways of direct selling.

The organization provides cab facility to female employees working before or post their normal working hours to provide comfortable travel while travelling for official Business purposes. The company is doing very well at business. Last month the organizations also stated that its home delivery business has increased 200 percent over the past six months, adding that it will invest Rs. 30 crore for supply chain and automation to fuel its home delivery and logistics network. The company said it expects the trend on online shopping to continue and forecasted online orders to reach over five-six lakh per month by year-end. The India unit of the Michigan-headquartered Amway said it is reporting over 2.8 lakh home deliveries, which is roughly 70-80 percent of its overall sales, compared to one lakh home deliveries before March this year.
